St. Malachy Parents & Guardians, As the new principal at St. Malachy Catholic School, I am excited to be here and am blessed to be part of the St. Malachy family. This position has allowed me to blend my faith and my career, while growing closer to God. I plan to carry on the mission of providing an educational opportunity for each student to mature spiritually, intellectually, culturally, socially, and physically. The best part of my job is watching the students get so excited when they encounter Jesus. I am able to witness the students grow in their faith and express their love for Christ on a daily basis. What a blessing that is! I was born and raised in Pekin, Illinois. I have a B. S. in Social Studies/Secondary Education from Bradley University in Peoria, as well as, a M.S. in Educational Administration & Supervision from St. Xavier University in Chicago. This is my first year in administration. Previously, I taught Social Studies for seven years at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. My husband and I have a blended family of eight children, four sons and four daughters, and one granddaughter, Aubree. My youngest two sons attend St. Malachy’s. Joshua is in kindergarten and Isaiah is in the fifth grade. In my free time, I love to read, play board games, and spend time with my family.  As the proverb goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” ---and it certainly takes a village to educate one. This is why I believe that everyone must work together as a team in order to ensure success for our students. I encourage alumni and parishioners to volunteer at our school. We have several opportunities for you to volunteer your time: Kindergarten “Mystery Reader”, Tutoring, Lunchroom/Playground Monitors, Library Aide, Guest Speakers, etc. Please call the school office (217) 892-201 for volunteer opportunities. My family and I appreciate the warm welcome we have received in the community and parish. Please keep us in your thoughts prayers as we continue to make the transition. Yours in Christ, Stacie Gianessi Principal  “Let the little children come unto Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to these.” - Matthew 19:14
